About the organiser

The German Tinnitus Foundation Charité has been entrusted with the organisation of the XI International Tinnitus Seminar.
The Foundation is represented by Prof. Birgit Mazurek, Chairman, and Dr. Kurt Anschütz, Managing Director.

Prof. Dr. med. Birgit Mazurek

The President of the XI International Tinnitus Seminar habilitated in 2007 at the medical faculty of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin on the subject "The role of hypoxia and ischemia in the development of auditory disorders". In 2001, after training as an ENT specialist, she started building up the Tinnitus Center at the Charité. In addition to her management role in the Prevention Center and the Charité Tinnitus Center, Prof. Birgit Mazurek does basic research and has published in international medical publications. Every year she organises the interdisciplinary Tinnitus Symposium, where the latest findings from research and practice are discussed.

Dr. Kurt Anschütz

Dr. Kurt Anschütz is the Managing Director of the German Tinnitus Foundation, where he was appointed founding coordinator in 2009. He holds a diploma in Fundraising Management and is Foundation Consultant.
He studied Protestant Theology, researching and teaching in Heidelberg, Paris and Berlin. Main themes: social history of the Church, reconciliation work by foreigners in Berlin after World War II. (Publications).
