About the congress

The first International Tinnitus Seminar was held in 1979 in New York. Since then, Tinnitus experts have met every three to four years to discuss the latest research findings, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to this disease which remains in many ways mysterious. For the eleventh congress, the German Tinnitus Foundation Charité is inviting scientists to Berlin from 21 - 24 May 2014.

President of the ITS14 is Prof. Dr. med. Birgit Mazurek. Alongside her work as head of the Tinnitus Center of the Charité, which was founded by her, she is active as first chairman of the Executive Board of the German Tinnitus Foundation Charité founded in 2011. The foundation is particularly keen to raise public awareness for tinnitus and to point out ways for its prevention, particularly among children and young people. Other tasks of the foundation are the promotion of tinnitus research and science communication.
